Hello! I'm Christina
Human First. Therapist Second. And above all, Dog Mom.
Here to help you stop surviving your life — and start feeling safe in it. (Because I've been there too.)
I know what it feels like to live at war with your own body— overriding the signals, minimizing the symptoms, and pushing through because you don’t know what else to do.
Only a couple of years ago, I was in that same place.
Just like you, I wanted peace...not just in my mind, but in my body too.
I was the reliable one — the high achiever, always busy, always producing, always fine.
But no matter how hard I worked, I couldn’t escape the stress cycle.
My body didn’t feel safe enough to slow down and I didn’t know how to change that.
I spent years trying to tame my symptoms.
What I discovered was that it wasn't about each symptom individually...
The symptoms were signs that my nervous system was completely dysregulated.
I did what every professional I spoke too told me, sleep more, meditate, lower your stress.
I couldn't sleep more, I was wide awake at 3 AM.
Meditate? I couldn't sit still, especially not with the voices in my head.
Lower my stress? I need to work to live...how do I even do that.
I felt like no one understood me or what I was experiencing.
Over the course of many YEARS, I learned that I needed a holistic approach to address the root issue, not just managing each symptom as they arose. Honestly, it felt like non-stop mini-fires that I had to put out every time I turned around.
I began helping people regulate their nervous system somatically through movement and mindfulness over 7 years ago, BUT there was a key component missing for all of the clients I worked with...
the mental-emotional piece.
Personally, I have been going to therapy for a decade, so although it wasn't fully integrative, I was still seeing massive shifts from the mental-emotional support, paired with the spiritual and somatic aspects I was trained in.
That is exactly why I chose to go back to school.
I knew that in order to help the clients I was working with, I needed to be able to holistically and integratively support them.
After extensive education, certifications, and clinical experience. That is exactly what I do now.
A complete mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual approach to nervous system regulation.
Most importantly, an approach that meets you where you're at.
When I first started, I was so dysregulated I couldn't sit still for 30 seconds, let alone 30 minutes. Someone telling me to "just meditate" was the worst advice I had ever heard. While it is a huge part of my wellness practice now, I didn't start there.
At the time, it didn't feel safe to sit in my own body.
I get that.
So now what?
What does an integrative approach look like?
My philosophy begins in psychotherapy. While we may share similar experiences and struggles, every human is unique. We need to spend time understanding how you got to where you are, what has or hasn't worked so far, and where you want to be.
Through individual therapy and/or psychoeducation courses we deepen your understanding of yourself and the current state of your nervous system.
Depending on where you're at and what you need, different therapeutic tools are used to support your mental-emotional well-being.
Within psychotherapy we also use mindfulness and somatic work to address the physical and spiritual components of ourselves. This can also be supported through mindfulness and movement practices/courses where needed.
My primary goal is to truly understand where you're at.
